Editor's Notes

I'm sure that some of the coolest and most intelligent of our visitors (this means you of course) have noticed that the last two weeks has seen my response time increase. I have always tried to clear the inbox within two days, give or take for time zone differences. Recently I have slowed down somewhat.

Even with the reduced traffic to the website, which was expected with so many students on holiday now, keeping up-to-date has taken some additional time. I have been receiving more than the usual amount of texts that just too long for my system to handle, and these take some time to delete, even though I do not read them. There have also been several texts that I just didn't understand well enough to attempt a good edit.

Hitting the "Delete" button is necessary every day, but always leaves me a little sad. I do honestly enjoy giving people a helping hand.

Other activities that will certainly affect the site are:

• Reviewing my system set-up (one reason I'm posting this blog format here.)

• Setting up another Archive Page to reduce the length of the "Free Proofreading" page.

• Creating a Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) page, and reminding people that I cannot correct their homework assignments taken from copyrighted books.

• The Google advertising on the editing pages will disappear soon, but may be replaced on some pages by one small ad for a new Writing Handbook.

• I'll announce the release of the new book here when I have finished the writing and proofreading and all of the other necessary tasks. (Talk about time consuming!)

Please bear with me, and Thank You for your continuing support.
