Parents, teachers and schools share one important goal, students’ academic achievement. Although academic achievement is greatly influenced by many factors parental involvement continues to be one of the most important elements of academic achievement. However, urban and low-income schools tend to have less parental participation when compared to suburban schools. In addition, parental participation decreases significantly in the middle grades, as a result, teachers and middle school parents have less communication. Furthermore, the literature review indicates that many experts have different definitions and opinions about parental involvement.
The goal of this project is to implement a plan to increase parental involvement.
