Alabama-AL
Alabama is a state located in the southeastern region of the United States. It is bordered by Tennessee to the north, Georgia to the east, Florida and the Gulf of Mexico to the south, and Mississippi to the west. Alabama ranks 30th in total land area and ranks second in the size of its inland waterways. The state ranked 23rd in population.
Alabama is unofficially nicknamed as Yellowhammer State, after the state bird. Its capital is Montgomery while its largest city is Birmingham. Alabama’s highest point is Mount Cheaha and its lowest point is the Gulf of Mexico.

Alaska-AK
Alaska is the largest state in the United States by area. It is situated in the northwest boundary of the North American continent, with Canada to the east, the Arctic Ocean to the north, and the Pacific Ocean to the west and south, with Russia further west across the Bering Strait. Approximately half of Alaska's 710,231 residents live within the Anchorage metropolitan area. Alaska is the least densely populated state of the U.S. Alaska’s capital is Juneau and its largest city is Anchorage. Its population ranked 47th. Its median of income ranked 4th. Its highest point is Mount McKinley.
Alaska was purchased from the Russian Empire on March 30, 1867, for $7.2 million at about two cents per acre. The land went through several administrative changes before becoming an organized territory on May 11, 1912 and the 49th state of the U.S. on January 3, 1959.
