Art Appreciation

Original Text: Art Appreciation

Art is supposed to be an exciting and creative department. Most think of it as painting, drawing, or even building. Something along the lines of using hands on activity. Art Appreciation on the other hand is hardly any of those things. Yes, there is one project that involves working with hands, but the students have to use elements that they have learned in the classroom. It isn’t even something that comes to the mind, or for fun. This class bores many students for the lack of an exciting atmosphere, brainless students, and a teacher who does nothing but lecture the entire class time.
The atmosphere in this class is very dull and tiring. The teacher turns off the light, so the students can see the power point, which doesn’t help and makes the students squint and develop a headache. Therefore, quickly making the students lose interest in the chapter. On top of the lights being dark and having the students’ fall asleep in class. It is always freezing in the classroom for the lack of activity. The class consists of students sitting at their desks and listening to the teacher lecture. This class results in the students usually falling asleep, or losing lack of interest in the subject.
With this wearisome classroom the students get distracted and talkative with others. Most of the students whisper trying to keep their voices down. Even though this is suppose to not distract people it does the exact opposite. All people can hear are whispers and keeping other students, who are actually trying to learn, from listening to the lecture. Along with the repeating whispers, there is always at least one student who falls asleep. The snoring from that student alone is enough to keep someone from paying attention to the lesson of the day. Whenever people hear that student let out a loud, snorkeling snore. All the students, and teacher, look behind themselves and start laughing for about five minutes. Therefore, it is even harder to continue with the lesson.
The teacher normally does nothing but talk. Granted that is part of the classroom, and she does know what she is talking about. The problem is she never changes her tone of voice, and her voice isn’t very enthusiastic. She also never makes it seem interesting and worth wild. She is always asking questions throughout the classroom, but it’s never anything worth trying to participate and remember. It affects the students by not paying attention to the lecture and not showing interest with the subject, which also makes the students think they are not learning anything and wasting their money.
The class itself should be exciting to learn about artist and different styles. It’s however, a bare atmosphere that makes it a poor learning climate. Students that can’t function well enough to sit quietly, or stay awake, along with a teacher who doesn’t show enough enthusiasm for the subjects she teaches. This class makes it difficult to learn and have interest, which also appears to be a waste of time and money. Unless someone has money they can throw away, or be bored to death, they should not take this class.

Revised Text:

Art is supposed to be an exciting and creative department. Most think of it as painting, drawing, or even building. Something along the lines of doing a hands on activity. Art Appreciation, on the other hand, is hardly any of those things. Yes, there is one project that involves working with the hands, but the students have to use elements they have learned in the classroom. It isn’t something that comes to mind as being fun. This class bores many students due to the lack of an exciting atmosphere, brainless students, and a teacher who does nothing but lecture the entire class time.

The atmosphere in this class is very dull and tiring. The teacher turns off the light so the students can see the power point presentation, which doesn’t help and makes the students squint and develop headaches. This quickly makes the students lose interest in the chapter. On top of that, the room being dark causes the students to fall asleep in class. It is always freezing in the classroom for the lack of activity. The class consists of students sitting at their desks and listening to the teacher lecture. This results in the students usually falling asleep or losing interest in the subject.

With this wearisome classroom, the students get distracted and talkative with others. Most of the students whisper, trying to keep their voices down. Even though this is supposed to not distract people, it does the exact opposite. All people can hear are whispers which keeps other students, who are actually trying to learn, from listening to the lecture. Along with the repeating whispers, there is always at least one student who falls asleep. The snoring from that student alone is enough to keep anyone from paying attention to the lesson of the day. Whenever people hear that student let out a loud, snorkeling snore, all the students and the teacher look around and laugh for about five minutes. This makes it even harder to continue with the lesson.

The teacher normally does nothing but talk. Granted, that is part of the class, and she does know what she is talking about. The problem is that she never changes her tone of voice and her voice isn’t very enthusiastic. She also never makes it seem interesting and worthwhile. She is always asking questions of the class, but it’s never anything worth trying to participate in or remember. This affects the students who then do not pay attention to the lecture and do not show interest in the subject. It also makes the students think they are not learning anything and are wasting their money.

The class itself should be exciting, learning about artists and different styles. However, it's a barren atmosphere that makes for a poor learning climate. Students that can’t function well and sit quietly, or stay awake, with a teacher who doesn’t show enough enthusiasm for the subjects she teaches.

This class makes it difficult to learn and to have interest, which makes it seem a waste of time and money. Unless someone has money to throw away, or is willing to be bored to death, they should not take this class.
