First Home Alliance
Home First Fundraiser 2010

Drip….drip…drip…
That’s the sound of tear drops hitting the kitchen table as a single mother of two fingers through the third delinquency notice. As her mind races, she wonders how she will be able to buy groceries this week and make her housing payments in full, or how her family would manage if she cuts some of her hours at work due to the fact that she can no longer afford to pay a baby sitter. As that mother sits at that kitchen table, an overwhelming sense of helplessness fills her stomach…

This is just one of the countless cases faced by American today. But there is a light at the end of the end of the tunnel.

There is First Home Alliance, a nonprofit organization who specializes in keeping families in their homes for good. Our goal is to lessen the incidents of low to moderate income families from losing their home to foreclosure through the method of early intervention, because the time before missing that first payment is essential in saving a family's home. By providing homeowners with education and counseling pertinent to assisting them in resolving and preventing foreclosure, First Home Alliance has succeeded in assisting fifty percent of Northern Virginian residents with foreclosure prevention impressively with only two full time housing counselors. Unfortunately, as time advances, the demand for services far exceeds the resources currently available at FHA, and the organization is limited in the amount of services it can provide and without additional permanent counselors, our ability to handle additional growth is extremely limited. Although we have taken a proactive and aggressive approach in our efforts to provide comprehensive services to our clients, addition full-time housing counselor as well as a part-time bilingual housing counselor will enable us to better serve the community. From contributions from individuals like you like you, the dream to fulfill the needs of the other fifty percent is surely within reach.

Please join us on Monday, July 20, 2009, at Fuddruckers on Shoppers Best Way in Woodbridge, Virginia for FHA’s First Annual “Home First” Fundraising event. Enjoy $1 Burger Mondays, special guest giveaways, and other fun surprises.

Every cent counts, no donation is too big or too small to help our fellow Northern Virginia families to stay in there homes With your contributions that same single mother can come through the door, kick off her shoes, and exhale, knowing that she is home.

This is just one of the many cases faced by Americans today. But there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

It is First Home Alliance, a nonprofit organization specializing in keeping families in their homes for good. Our goal is to lessen the incidents of low to moderate income families losing their home to foreclosure by early intervention. The time before missing that first payment is essential in saving a family's home.

By providing homeowners with education and counseling, assisting them in resolving and preventing foreclosure, First Home Alliance has succeeded in assisting fifty percent of Northern Virginian residents with foreclosure prevention. This is impressive with only two full time housing counselors.

Unfortunately, as time goes on, the demand for services far exceeds the resources currently available at FHA. The organization is limited in the amount of services it can provide and without additional permanent counselors, our ability to handle additional growth is extremely limited. Although we have taken a proactive and aggressive approach in our efforts to provide comprehensive services to our clients, an additional full-time housing counselor and a part-time bilingual housing counselor will enable us to better serve the community. With contributions from individuals like you, the dream of fulfilling the needs of the other fifty percent is surely within reach.
