Immigration is a vital feature of Australia's history and national identity. Since 1788, our population has been made up of both the original, Indigenous inhabitants of the land and those who are here as the result of a journey, either in our own lifetime or in our family history. For two centuries, millions have made the long journey across the oceans to Australia seeking fortune, opportunity and freedom. Australia is an island continent in the Southern Hemisphere, lying between Antarctica and Asia. The impact of environmental variation is highly evident in the traditional cultures of indigenous Australia, it has not been as strong in immigrant cultures. The most significant lifestyle differences are affected primarily by variations in climate. People decide to immigrate to Australia to become eligible citizens and be granted with constitutional rights.

In search of better opportunities and various reasons like, employment, education, health facilities and for religious rights

People immigrate to Australia because of better health facilities, the Australian health system maintains standards of excellence, many immigrants have limited health support back in their country because of less income, but healthcare in Australia has free public facilities such as Medicare. Public hospitals often provide free services.


Also, people immigrate to Australia because they have a less possibility of getting a job. Most people that immigrate are professionals like teachers and doctors also people with degrees, they fells as persons with highly below average jobs and incomes. But opportunities back in their country many not be enough such as people from Iraq who are left with no choice but to immigrate to another place or country because of the ongoing war and famine in their country.

Also India which is an overcrowded country where too much people are seeking for employment even people who have the right degrees and people who have been highly educated has a less chance because of the overcrowded population , because of these various reasons people immigrate to Australia to be employed. Also in undeveloped countries many families suffer to keep food on the tables because of less income compared to the amount they work so they immigrate to Australia to get paid a fair income.

Additionally, they immigrate to Australia for their children’s education. Australia is well-known for its standards in high education. Australia is a multicultural society, although English is the official language many other languages are also spoken in Australia. Also everyone gets a chance to be educated unlike other countries where only wealthy children can attend school.

Another reason for immigrating to Australia is because of religious beliefs. Although Christianity is the most followed religion in Australia there are also many other religions that people can follow and people have to freedom of choosing their religion, unlike in the Islam countries people are forced to believe in the religion they all do. Australia has many varieties of religion such as Hinduism, Muslim, Christianity, Catholic, Methodist, and Buddhism.
