Original Text: Grammar

Have courage states a Follow Your Dreams sign on my office wall. A picture of a lion fills the center of the picture. Why I ask. Why would a picture of a lion take such a place of importance on my wall? Perhaps it is a reflection of the lion in the Wizard of Oz. That lion played by Bert Lahr a man most of you would never remember kept singing and saying “If I Only Had a Heart”. What does this phrase mean to you? To me, having a heart means caring for others who may not be as fortunate as I am. However, having a heart also means caring about my family friends relatives my country and my beliefs. In short, to me having a heart focuses on the following phrase that has guided me often: This above all: To your own self, be true.

Revised Text:Grammar

"Have Courage" states a Follow Your Dreams sign on my office wall. A photo of a lion fills the center of the picture. Why, I ask? Why would a picture of a lion take such a place of importance on my wall? Perhaps it is a reflection of the lion in the Wizard of Oz. That lion, played by Bert Lahr, a man most of you would never remember, kept singing and saying, “If I Only Had a Heart”.

What does that phrase mean to you? To me, having a heart means caring for others who may not be as fortunate as I am. However, having a heart also means caring about my family, friends, relatives, my country, and my beliefs. In short, to me, having a heart focuses on the following phrase that has guided me often: This above all: To your own self, be true.
