To whom it may concern, I am interested in obtaining a position in your school district as an Elementary teacher. My experience that I have obtained throughout seven years as a fully included paraprofessional has been immense. I have worked with variety of ages and abilities in kindergarten through fifth grade. This chance of working in a classroom was given to me since I worked with a girl who has Asperser’s and was fully included. I have also worked with children that are diagnose with Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Tourette syndrome, Attention Deficient Disorder and other disabilities. The diverse ages gave me an opportunity to work with a variety of students with a ray of abilities. Not to mention, to work as a team with other teachers, parents and educational professionals for the common goal~ children’s success. Being a paraprofessional gave me a chance to adapt materials and carry out accommodations for the child. Many of these adaptations were on the spot and needed quick thinking to help the child with Autism or other disabilities to adjust to the curriculum. I also made visual aids to help make the material being taught easy to comprehend for all diverse learners. This has helped me developed my philosophy of teaching by noticing the diversity of learning styles and the importance of connecting the students by visual, kinesthetic and auditory techniques. I have been apart of planning, implementing and facilitating small groups centers. I have seen the positive outcomes of the use of centers in Math and Language Arts for kindergarten, 2nd grade and 3rd grade levels. Working with special need children and after school care at the YMCA has given me many opportunities to deal with unexpected circumstances which helped me be able to adapt to changes quickly. I am fortunate to work with a variety of teachers which has expose me to multitude of teaching styles, discipline techniques and organizational skills that are needed to run a successful classroom to control the unwanted behaviors that can hinder learning and a safe atmosphere. The compassion I have for teaching children is also important in building a connection and trust to establish a bond for the students and their parents to succeed in building the foundation of knowledge.

I also made visual aids to help make the material being taught easy to comprehend for all diverse learners. This has helped me develop my philosophy of teaching, noticing the diversity of learning styles and the importance of connecting the students by visual, kinesthetic and auditory techniques.

I have been a part of planning, implementing and facilitating small group centers and have seen the positive outcomes of the use of centers in Math and Language Arts for kindergarten, 2nd grade and 3rd grade levels.
