Need help in a sentence

by Annie
(U,A,E)

This is a movie slide that I am making for my son's 1st birthday and I need help with a sentence for which I am not sure about.

Our God blessed him - with tremendouse growth and health.

And He continued blessing him.

Can you tell me if the above sentence is in proper english and also the use of the hypen? Also the next sentence will be shown in another slide.
I'm not to sure about the second sentence. Does have to be 'And He continued blessing him' or 'continued to bless him'?

Editor:

I think you could achieve the dramatic effect you want by using one sentence spanning two slides. The rules for the hyphen are vague, so shouldn't be a problem.

May I suggest:

Slide 1

Our God blessed him with tremendous growth and health -

Slide 2

and continued blessing him.
