Just a year ago, I-45 South around the Gulf Gate Mall, interstate lights had been stripped of all its copper wire. The stripping caused the area between Telephone Rd. and MLK exit to be extremely dark along the interstate, like an old country road. During the same time there were many reported copper stealing out of residential home a/c units, including a Baptist church on the southeast side of Houston. The thieves have been reported to look like regular Centerpoint employees with reflector vests, hard hats and precaution cones to line off the work area.
When passing by as quickly as we do, while driving along the interstate. We never come to the thought of what is missing from an interstate work site at night or perhaps any giving time of the day. If we ever paid attention to William Bros. construction crew as they work to make wider interstate lanes such as I-10 and 610. They have a number of equipment to be used for their job duties. The workers will have the proper vehicles with the yellow precaution lights and the yellow light precaution arrows to inform the traffic of the work that’s going on in such lane areas. If the company is in need of further assistants, they will ask the police to accompany them for the safety of the workers and drivers.
Even though the gentlemen of whoever did the copper stealing from the lights along I-45 had on reflector safety vests, hand flashlights, a tool belt and precaution cones lined off. They were missing still much to prove that they were real Centerpoint workers. We become blinded to recognize counterfeit workers from real dedicated hard-working people. While rushing by not paying attention to the action taking place, we are stripped and left in darkness. In passing by we get the glance of what appears to be a work site, but not the actual site.
There must be a time when copper sales are up tremendously. This year it happens again and it’s around the same time as the I-45 copper stealing. For a month our church had to accommodate our large family of members to one facility. Do to the fact that we have become victimize in the copper stealing. The thieves have taken all the copper from the street electricity pole that operates the electricity in our church home. Thank God for providing us ahead of time with a second facility to worship Him in. Everything is all is well now with our church home thank God. A couple of weeks later after we were hit and victimized another company parking lot had become a victim to their copper being stolen out of all their light poles on the lot.
The police stated to the press how they have spoken with the copper buyers. Speaking with the buyers they have been trying to get some assistance in their investigation. What they told the buyers is to copy down the license plate numbers of everybody coming though to sale copper. Sense the greed of money is a lot greater than the welfare of companies and residential folks who are becoming victims to the producing of their copper to be sold. The police have not been successful in capturing the criminal suspects involved in the copper stealing. It is very sad to say that many other companies and residential folks can become victims as well.

Revised Text:

Just a year ago on I-45 South, around the Gulf Gate Mall, interstate lights had been stripped of all their copper wire. The stripping caused the area between Telephone Rd. and the MLK exit to be extremely dark along the highway, like an old country road. At the same time, there were many reported copper thefts from residential a/c units, and a Baptist church on the southeast side of Houston. The thieves have been reported to look like regular Centerpoint employees with reflector vests, hard hats and precaution cones to line off the work area.

When passing by as quickly as we do, while driving along the interstate, we never give thought to what is missing from an interstate work site at night and perhaps any other time of the day. If we ever paid attention to the William Bros. construction crews as they work to make wider interstate lanes on I-10 and 610, we would know that they have a number of pieces of equipment used in their job duties. The workers have the proper vehicles, with the yellow precaution lights, and the yellow light precaution arrows to inform the traffic of the work that’s going on in the traffic lanes. If the company is in need of additional assistance, they ask the police to accompany them for the safety of the workers and drivers.

Even though the gentlemen who did the copper stealing from the lights along I-45 had reflector safety vests, hand flashlights, tool belts and precaution cones lined off they were still missing much to prove that they were real Centerpoint workers. We become blinded to recognizing counterfeit workers from the real dedicated hard-working people. While we are rushing by, not paying attention to the action taking place, the copper wiring is stripped and we are left in darkness. In passing by, we get a glance of what appears to be a work site, but is not an actual site.

There must be a time when copper sales are up tremendously. This year it's happening again and it’s around the same time as the I-45 copper stealing.

For a month our church had to accommodate our large family of members in one facility due to the fact that we have become victims of the copper stealing. The thieves have taken all the copper from the street electricity poles that provide the electricity to our church home. Thank God for providing us ahead of time with a second facility to worship Him in. Everything is all is well now with our church home, thank God. A couple of weeks after we were hit and victimized, another company parking lot became a victim with the copper being stolen from all their light poles on the lot.

The police told the press how they have spoken with the copper buyers, trying to get some assistance in their investigation. What they told the buyers was to copy down the license plate numbers of everybody coming though to sell copper.

The greed for money is a lot stronger than the welfare of companies and residential folks who are becoming victims of the copper thefts. The police have not been successful in capturing the criminal suspects involved in the copper stealing. It is very sad to say that many other companies and residential folks may become victims as well.
