By applying the proposed approach to the case study, the Nile Delta is divided into eleven groups of similar SUs with respect to their attributes. Four out of these eleven groups are over-monitored and four groups are under-monitored. This indicates that the spatial distribution of the monitoring locations is not representative of the different categories of sub-catchments within the Nile Delta.
