Word Choice

Hello. Please help me to make up a natural sentence:
"The islands are a debatable (debating) point / issue // a moot point // a (the) reason / cause of dispute. (It's about the disputed territory.)
Thank you very, very much for your help.

I'm a little confused here. There are several possibilities for a grammatically correct sentence using the options you present and the intended meaning can vary widely.

One possibility is, "The islands are a cause of dispute."
