thoreau said "the mass of men lead lives of quiet desperation"(P.43. Mr.todd clearly agrees with Thoreau. Mr.Todd is an old fashion man. He wants a simple basic life. Mr.Todd feels life is too complex. He believes technology is taking over, and its not improving his life.
