My research is about gender differences in video games. I think the issue is quite important at this time, due to the large number and variety of games that exists. Between the varieties are sports, skills, battles, cooking, music, pets and action among others. Through a brief history of video games we can find the moment when the differences were more visible and also present a brief survey in which a group of boys and girls were asked what their favourite video game was. I will focus on finding these differences through the characters, the type of games and the social, cognitive and academic effects. It is noteworthy that in a private school is offered a course about Super Mario Melee: Theory and practice.
