Peroxo

Original Text: Peroxo

The peroxo tungsten compounds based on pyridinr carboxylic acid ligands were prepared and characterized by FTIR spectroscopy, X-ray powder diffraction analysis, scanning electron microscopy and thermal gravimetric analysis. These catalysts can effectively epoxidize alkenes with H2O2 as green oxidant. The reactivity of catalysts depends on the nature of the metal and especially on the nature of the ligands coordinated to the metal. So, the catalytic performance of the different peroxo tungsten compounds was evaluated in the epoxidation of alkenes under mild conditions. Also, the activity of the different peroxo tungsten compounds compared with molybdenum analouges and the interaction of alkenes with peroxo group was examined. And the observations theoretically discussed.
