2IP Phase distance protection function has four zones of phase distance elements with Mho characteristic angle, but as per the requirement type selection will be provided to all four zones in the Phase Distance Protection Element, and four zones can be set to either a Mho shape or Quadrilateral shape.
To support both Mho and Quad shapes the values from left as well as right reach can be modified.
A new Zero sequence over voltage protection has been introduced to the offliner with definite time delay and inverse time functionality. The inverse curve, formula for pickup and reset will be applicable to 59N Inverse time as shown in the snapshot. Definite time delay will have pickup per unit value and pickup delay.
At present, offliner doesn’t have series compensated line protection feature within line parameters. According to the IEC market requirement, this feature will be added to Line parameter screen at the end with enabling option. The Message ID for enable/ disable will be added to setting file for further action based on the selection.
The offliner has four zones of phase and four Ground Distance Protection Elements. At present, one can select both forward and reverse reach for zone 3 and zone 4, but as per the new requirement forward and reverse reach can be configured solely for zone 3 and zone 4.
To achieve full forward, reverse reach should be zero. Similarly, to get fully reverse state forward reach should be zero.
Check synchronizing function has been provisioned to enter values for angle difference, maximum voltage and minimum voltage. This has an option to enable and disable the main and auxiliary values. In accordance with existing feature frequency difference has to be included to LPRO offliner as a part of IEC requirement.
The current implantation of Line parameter doesn’t have Line angle setting. With this enhancement load compensation has been added to Line parameter screen to set measures for line angle. The range will be +5.0 degrees to -5.0 degrees.
21P and 21N are already having four zones in addition to that to meet requirement fifth zone will be added to both Phase and Ground distance protection. The fifth zone can be configured for fully forward or fully reverse reach and will support both Mho and Quad characteristics.
The ranges for Positive and Zero sequence angels have been modified to meet IEC market requirements. The minimum range for Zero sequence angles has been decreased from 45 degrees to 5 degrees, similarly the ranges for positive sequence also altered.
Alpha and beta features will be included in over current function under the Maximum torque angle frame. In accordance with the specification, these features are treated as the common feature for over current protection.
The minimum and maximum ranges for K0 Magnitude and K0 Angle will be reworked based on the IEC market need.
