Original Text: Technical

By applying the proposed approach to the case study, the Nile Delta is divided into eleven groups of similar SUs with respect to their attributes. Four out of these eleven groups are over-monitored and four groups are under-monitored. This indicates that the spatial distribution of the monitoring locations is not representative of the different categories of sub-catchments within the Nile Delta. Assessment and redistribution of the monitoring locations show that, eleven out of the 50 monitoring locations under assessment could be discontinued, 39 locations should be continuously measured and eleven ungauged SUs should be gauged.
